Friends of Asia is an acoustic duo bringing together the expressive voice of Asia Andersen and the distinctive fingerstyle guitar of Stanislav Počaji.
Their music moves between contemporary jazz, soul, blues and bossa nova, combining original compositions with carefully selected songs and distinctive arrangements. The duo’s sound is built around the natural connection between voice and guitar, creating a rich and dynamic musical experience without backing tracks or playback.
Asia Andersen is a Slovak singer and songwriter with a powerful, flexible voice and a strong connection to jazz and contemporary music. She studied jazz singing at the Friedrich Gulda School of Music in Vienna and has performed internationally, including at Vinterjazz Copenhagen.
Stanislav Počaji is a Slovak jazz guitarist, composer and educator, known for his fingerstyle approach to the guitar. His playing combines melody, harmony, rhythm and percussive elements, allowing the guitar to function as a complete musical partner to the voice.
Together, Asia and Stanislav have performed more than 150 concerts in Slovakia and abroad, including Bratislava Jazz Days, Vinterjazz Copenhagen, Kulturhuset Copenhagen, Slovak Institute Vienna, Blue Note, Jazztival Rimavská Sobota and other jazz clubs, festivals and cultural venues.
Friends of Asia are available for jazz clubs, festivals, cultural centres, boutique hotels, private events and selected international programmes.
